Homemade Protein Bars

Ceci brought me a popular brand name protein bar today (apparently Troy recently bought some) and it got me thinking…I bet I can make a protein bar that’s better than this crap. By the way most protein bars look like crap haha just keeping it real so you’re forewarned. Here’s the recipe it’s really easy peasy and pretty versatile.

• 1 cup “butter” [not real butter I’m talking about something like peanut butter, almond butter or sunflower seed butter depending on your preference or intolerance/allergies to nut butters]
• 1 cup [vegan] chocolate Shakeology*
• 1 cup quick oats oatmeal
• 1/2 cup applesauce or mushed banana
• 1/4 cup [local] honey

Combine all of the ingredients and mix well. Line a small baking dish with parchment paper [the size of the dish can vary based on what you have and how thick you want the bars to be – 9×9 ish is a decent size to work with]. Let set in refrigerator, cut into bars and enjoy!

* The [vegan] chocolate Shakeology is what I used because we are part of Team Beach Body. You can use your favorite [chocolate] protein powder if you already have one.
