Comfy Shoe Confession

Toe socks freak me out! Just looking at pictures of friends wearing Vibrams freaked me out and seeing them in person literally sent shivers down my spine! Yet one day while at a Georgia Game Changers event I glanced over and saw some cute ribbon Vibrams on one of the employees. I started working with her to pick out my latest pair of minimalist natural running shoes. While doing so I asked her more about Vibrams and she convinced me to try some out. I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the styles but then she had me try on a solid black version of the ribbon style and I fell in love! I tried on a couple more styles and then went back to the ribbon style [actually they’re called Alitza] and decided to buy them as well as my new Altras. I will admit the first few times it took a minute to get the Vibrams on my feet. One thing I was nervous about in regards to the Vibrams was the fear of having a sensory overload with my toes being separated like that but honestly I barely even notice I’m wearing shoes! They are ridiculously light and comfortable! Surprisingly though I haven’t received many comments or questions about my shoes and I wear them all the time. They are now my go to daily shoe! So there now you have it, I confess I love my new Vibrams and will likely buy another pair one day. I will admit I’m often a big skeptic when it comes to new things, I was over a year ago with this natural running junk but truly I love it and the more I learn the more I love it and the more I want to share my love for it. Yet I am a firm believe that people need to try it out for themselves. That’s how it was for me. I was a skeptic until I was open to trying something new and tested it out myself. So here’s to a new natural running/ barefoot adventure!
